This Winter School Holidays, the Snowy Valleys area is buzzing with free and affordable activities, including first aid and white card training, hair and makeup workshops, and NAIDOC week activities.

Thanks to funding from the NSW Government, Council is offering several free workshops for ages 12 to 24.

These include first aid training for individuals aged 14-24 to gain essential lifesaving skills, hair and makeup workshops for those aged 12-24 to learn expert tips from local professionals, and white card training for 14-24 year olds to help prepare them for the construction industry.

The program also includes a variety of activities hosted by local organisations and businesses. 5 Ways Studio and Gallery in Tumut is offering several workshops, such as Sewing Club, Rice Maps, Charcoal Mouse, Collagraph Printing, and Galaxy and Planet Paintings.

Additionally, 5 Ways Studio is organising Sunday Fun Days on Sundays during the holidays, providing even more opportunities for creative exploration.

In Tumbarumba, Artists on the Parade are hosting a “Get Tangled in Zen Tangle” workshop, focusing on meditative art, and an “Above and Below” class, painting life in a pond.

NAIDOC week events including official Flag Raising Ceremonies, artefact talks, a bush tucker walk and art workshops are also running from 7-14 July.

Parents are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment as many events have a limited capacity.
